Ok then how do you explain Ubuntu with its version of the month club?

There are patches for every OS that include fixes AND new features.

I'm just curious who these people are that are NOT having any trouble with it ?

The search engine is a big problem. And I would guess the 'not responding' has

a lot to do also with it's problem with finding non-existent stuff, deleted

stuff, etc.. and taking forever to NOT find what you may be sitting there

looking at.

This is 2 KNOWN problems. How is it there are some people having no problem

with these functions ? Do they just never touch the machine or use the search

function ?

You can't use the machine without seeing these problems..

Or actually how is it they are using the machine, and the search and NOT having

trouble with it ? What are they doing to not have this problem ?

I never use the search function. I use Copernic a much more useful search

engine. So its not a problem with me.

I have not seen a "not responding" from my computer.

My guess, and that's all it is, is all the people that say they don't

have problems mainly use their computer as a door stop or book end.

People that actually USE their computer for serious work and do things

beyond the simplistic trivial stuff are the most likely to run into

problems. The more you push your computer and do more demanding tasks,

the more problems you'll likely run into.

A simple analogy would be if you have excessive play in the steering

of your car but never drive over 20 MPH you'll probably never notice

it much and still can drive safely. However take the same car and

start driving it over 80 MPH down a curving highway in a driving rain

storm and Heaven help you and anyone else you meet on the road.

As usual the fanboy crowd being an overly excited bunch don't get it.

I'm not being critical of Microsoft because I expect Vista to be

perfect, far from it. However I'm getting increasingly annoyed when

you see people often with a mob mentality jumping up and down becoming

anti-social and actually hostile to people that report real problems,

especially those that Microsoft itself has admitted to.

The real question is why do fanboys need to act so defensive of

Microsoft? What's in it for them? That they never can answer, so it

seems they just like acting juvenile. Nothing is more comical then

watching some twenty to fifty something six year olds having a temper

tantrum and this newsgroup has a excess of those that can't behave or

be reasoned with.

Fanboys often being clueless fools love to pretend if they don't have

a particular problem, then the problem doesn't exist, so you must be

some dummy if you have a problem. That as crazy as it is becomes the

mind set fanboys operate under.

I know, that's mind boggling, but everyone knows fanboys aren't

exactly what you would call Einstein types so they tend to jump to

conclusions, ignore facts and just get increasingly vocal, more so

when they get proven wrong. That's just how they are. Frank is a prime

example of a out of control ding-dong. He's obsessed with trying to

defend Microsoft, he foolishly thinks that's his job. Frank says he's

a senior citizen and he acts like a four year old.

Why try to change the topic? We're not discussing Ubuntu. I don't use

it and know nothing about how Ubuntu performs or don't. The topic is

Microsoft shortcomings. A topic you always run away from. Pretty

obvious why you want to discuss something else. A very weak but

frequent tactic of fanboys. Move the goal posts, change the topic

answer a question with another question. All kid stuff. Grow up if you

ever want to have an adult conversation.

I'm not having any problem with the search function. I told it to search for

all files, and it does.

I took ownership of all my drives and files, and set search to search all

files (not just user files), and guess what, it finds it all. I have yet to

have it fail to find something.

Microsoft's shortcomings?

Who asked you, silly quacking old man?

From a financial perspective, MS has $800,000,000,000.

You have $1,256.75.

But you think you are smarter than them !

See if they will hire you as a consultant, mr. quackers

Nice try Adam.

The topic is patches. I say all OS's have them. Your reply is just another

rant.

Tell me did you grow up in a trailer park or the back of a truck? Did you

finish high school?

Maybe you were a mommas boy and always got your way. That is the only way to

explain why you act so uncivilized and act like some school yard bully with

your constant insults and rants.

Tell me did you grow up in a trailer park or the back of a truck? Did you

finish high school?

Maybe you were a mommas boy and always got your way. That is the only way to

explain why you act so uncivilized and act like some school yard bully with

your constant insults and rants.

Once again by opening that a**hole of a mouth you prove you really have no

intelligence or experience with computers for that fact.....If by any

chance you had something slightly larger than a pinhead for a brain you

would know that XP sucks !!...Always has and always will !!!..Move on ya

frickin Idiot or go play with the rest of the Linux children who would not

know what a op system was if they tripped over it !!!

Micros~1 has never said that problems exist with Vista. There are

"opportunities," true. Even "challenges." But problems?

Nonsense.

Adam...Once again I will ask you to show...with actual numbers...that Vista

is worse than xp was when it first came out.....problem reports are a

serious minority amongst Vista users if you compare to the same time that xp

was out....Go back and research and show us POSITIVE results that prove that

you are right and we are wrong...otherwise stop with that so called facts

when you really have not provided proof of any kind.....

Running out of original insults already? You're starting to repeat

yourself dumbass.

Correction: these are problems that are happening on SOME machines.....Now

YOU narrow it down to whether these machines come from manufacturers like

DELL,HP IBM,GATEWAY and such then compare that to people who have homebuilt

(without Crapware preinstalled)....Then get back to us and see if you can

prove your theory which is all it is ,,just a theory....99.9% of all

computer problems come from so called computer mfg's that stuff a lot of

CRAP on their machines and throw them out the door on people and then say it

is Microsoft's fault when that is a crock.....Get back to us when you have

ACTUAL numbers and not before

I'm just curious who these people are that are NOT having any trouble with

it ?

The search engine is a big problem. And I would guess the 'not responding'

has

a lot to do also with it's problem with finding non-existent stuff, deleted

stuff, etc.. and taking forever to NOT find what you may be sitting there

looking at.

This is 2 KNOWN problems. How is it there are some people having no problem

with these functions ? Do they just never touch the machine or use the

search

function ?

You can't use the machine without seeing these problems..

Or actually how is it they are using the machine, and the search and NOT

having

trouble with it ? What are they doing to not have this problem ?

more pix @ http://members.toast.net/cbminfo/index.html

Im not having any issues at all. Of course I installed it on a new

machine I built myself.
