Windows 11 - Why does Win11 search for documents frequently fail?

Win11, I go to the search bar, type in the document I'm looking for. Win11 finds it, but the link to open it is greyed out. I click to open it and nothing happens; it won't open the document. I click open file location, nothing happens. In the past I've had to go to task manager and stop any of the File Explorers that are open, then go to open a new one and sometimes then the search feature will open documents. Or sometimes I can go to file explorer, type in the document and it will sometimes find it (not always) and if it finds it it MIGHT open it that way and might not. Either way, I shouldn
