Event Viewer Windows does not display

I am not able to bring up the Event Viewer from the administrator tools.

After acknowledging the UAC, nothing happens. The same is true of the task

scheduler. The same behavior is exhibited when trying to start the event

viewer from the command line. I doubt this has anything to do with

administrator rights. I am able to bring up a few of the other tools, ie

the odbc, iscsi...

I did read one suggestion of running the sfc tool. There were a few items

that it was not able to repair. I have pasted those below. Thanks for any

help, or suggestions of how to track down this error.
