Firewire not recognizing Panasonic DV camera

I have a Panasonic PV-DV53 mini DV Palmcorder comera and cannot get it

recognized under Windows Vista Home Basic. It comes in as an unknown device

and cannot find drivers. I have an Acer Aspire AST180-UA350B PC with 1.5 GIG

of Ram and a built in 1394 (Firewire) Port. I am current with Vista update

patches and have checked the Panasonic website for drivers, there are none

present at this time. I also sent an email request to their Tech Support for

suggestions. Will this be fixed in a Vista Service Pack or sooner?
