Posted September 13, 20222 yr This is the next segment of our blog series highlighting Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors who achieved the Gold milestone, the highest status level attainable, and recently graduated from university. Each blog in the series features a different student and highlights their accomplishments, their experience with the Student Ambassador community, and what they’re up to now. Today we meet Jatin Pandya who is from India and recently graduated from JECRC University with a Bachelor of Technology, majoring in computer science and engineering. Responses have been edited for clarity and length. When you joined the Student Ambassador community in 2019, did you have specific goals you wanted to reach, such as a particular skill or quality? Before I joined, my mentor was a senior and organized Student Ambassador events covering topics like VS Code and AI gaming. She said that I had more potential than I knew, so I should go for this program. I didn’t have specific goals, I just wanted to explore how Microsoft does what they do. I have been a big admirer of Satya Nadella and how he reformed Microsoft by just the power of empathy, so I wanted to see if empathy could do wonders and it sure did wonders for me. Unlike other student programs, the Student Ambassador community empowers you and connects you to people who guide you to find your passion, which I was struggling with then. I am now more passionate about product management and advocating compassion in the world. Thanks to this community, I'm going to stick to it without giving up, no matter what. Jatin sharing information on how the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program can impact students’ lives. What were the accomplishments that you’re the proudest of and why? As a Student Ambassador, I’ve been a part of and led various initiatives from organizing small events covering AI gaming, VS Code, Hacktoberfest, and many more to Power Verse, a power platform bootcamp in collaboration with other Student Ambassadors. The biggest highlight was being a part of Microsoft Ignite in the post-Ignite table talks alongside some amazing Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals and speaking at and One of my biggest achievements was forming and building relationships with people in the community. I have met amazing people including Student Ambassador program team members Sarah, Morgan, Lee, and Pablo, who encouraged me to make an impact and what that looks like. I’ve also made friends beyond what I ever could have imagined who have inspired me to be a better human and helped me become a part of the community. I still remember how my friends Rucha and Vedant celebrated my birthday even before I could remember it. Others have become a part of my journey as well. This sure is an accomplishment for me. What are you doing now that you’ve graduated? I want to continue pursuing my dream of becoming a product manager and advocating for compassion in technology alongside working with the developer community on a global scale. I also see myself pursuing my MBA in Product Management in 2 or 2.5 years to grow as a product manager and one day work at my dream company. I will never give up on my dream to be THE BEST PRODUCT MANAGER the world has ever seen. If you could redo your time as a Student Ambassador, is there anything you would have done differently? The only thing I would have done differently is having the courage to reach out and connect to more people and share my passion and in turn be inspired by them. If you were to describe the community to a student who is interested in joining, what would you say about it to convince him or her to join? When you hear about folks who made it big in the tech community, you'll know that most of them belonged to the Student Ambassador community – which not only made an impact on their careers but also on them as a human. We as human beings seek acknowledgment and growth, and this community makes us grow beyond what we could ever have imagined. This isn't just a community or a program--it's a family! What advice would you give to new Student Ambassadors? Be passionate about whatever you do and never do something just for the benefits, but for what impact you can make and how many lives you can empower. There's no better feeling than making a positive impact on someone's life. What is your motto in life, your guiding principle? I live by my purpose to follow my passion for making this world full of compassion and advocate for the same by pursuing product management. NO MATTER WHAT happens, I'm never going to give up! What is one random fact about you that few people are aware of? I love watching Naruto & DragonBall and have an infinite love for ice cream. Good luck to you in all your endeavors, Jatin!
