Posted July 1, 20195 yr Hello I am an average user so find the links to doing the subject difficult. I have watched videos also but they are not easy. I do have a flash drive I downloaded from the MCT and used to install Windows 10 Pro. I can only see the files within the MCT when I use the flash drive I made with .esd. Maybe you could help me do this in steps. is the first thing I do, install a blank flash drive and save the MCT to it? Thank you

July 2, 20195 yr Author Below please see a way I copied from Brink then modified to suit my own needs which negates the use for .wim however, I would like to have my own .wim stick. My problem is that I don't know if I am working within the flash drive or on desktop. I don't know if after the .wim is made if I need to make it bootable. if I knew the outline I could then follow these tutorials I have watched for weeks. >>This does work: One can use DISM for .ESD (windows is compressed) repair below without converting to .WIM: Run as admin & fix # of OS and letter of installation flash drive: ! Be sure to use the right Drive letter so likely replace the E. 1-insert OS flashdrive,2- copy 1st string to Word doc if letter not same as your flash; otherwise just run to see number, 3-change the letter of OS flash if necessary, in Word then 4-copy corrected string and paste into cmd as admin. 5-when know letter and number = run second string Get OS # with 1st string = dism /get-wiminfo /wimfile:E:\sources\install.esd 2nd string Get DISM fix for .ESD from flash drive = Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:E:\Sources\Install.esd:6 /limitaccess So as you can see I can achieve what the .wim file can do with .esd . If you can give me a few steps it would help me with the tutorial.
