Because I have seen Doug uses IPhones I am asking this question here.

The title, when enabled, causes our phones not to ring. We both have the iPhone XR.

We have read the function of this but it we cannot understand how enabling a feature which stops the phone from ringing all together is worthwhile.

We have gotten all sorts of answers from Apple.

One person said to use it if at a meeting, another said the hardware is faulty etc.

Do you think enabling this features should stop the phone from ringing?

It shouldn't shut off the ringer. It should only lower the volume. The feature is only active if you are looking at/using the phone so if it shuts off the ringer when active then you very well could have a hardware problem.

I have the feature on all the time and if I am using the phone when I get a call the volume is way lower then normal, but, it still rings. If I'm in a meeting I use the mute button to shut off notifications and ringer.

I guess I better go to the Apple store. When I enable it and call, it shows a screen as though someone is calling and I hear very very low ring. It is hardly audible.Thank you
