N3 Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 I have the latest "Who Crashed" download, 6.50. After it was downloaded it provided me with the following analysis.... Crash dumps are enabled on your computer. This system is not configured for complete or automatic crash dumps. For best results, configure your system to write out complete or automatic crash dumps. Select Tools->Crash Dump Configuration from the main menu to configure your system to write out complete memory dumps. Crash dump directories: C:\windows C:\windows\Minidump No valid crash dumps have been found on your computer. Would it be to my advantage to configure my computer with the above or leave well enough alone? Quote
starbuck Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 To be honest, I'd leave well alone. How often are you getting blue screens of death? if like most people, they are few and far between...... why worry about it. A long as your system is kept up to date ( including the drivers) you shouldn't really need it. I think the last BSOD that I had was about 2 years ago .... and that was down to a failing hard drive. N3 Posted January 6, 2019 Author Posted January 6, 2019 I haven't had a BSOD in years. In reference to "drivers", this forum as well as others recommended never to upgrade drivers. Has this recommendation changed? Quote
starbuck Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 I wouldn't use the built in Windows facility or the Windows Update for updating any drivers. If I suspect that a driver needs updating, I'd go to the vendors website and download the drivers from there. 1 Quote
plodr Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 I see you are running an outdated browser. FF 56.2.5 End-of-life 56.0.x product line on November 14, 2017. You should be running FF 64 or ESR 60.4. If you don't like FF Quantum, try other browsers that have been patched. Quote
N3 Posted January 7, 2019 Author Posted January 7, 2019 Actually i'm running, " Waterfox 56.2.5 64 bit". I'd like to go to FF Quantrum but in doing so i may lose all of my waterfox bookmarks. Quote
FPCH Staff Rustys Posted January 7, 2019 FPCH Staff Posted January 7, 2019 You can backup you bookmarks prior to installing Firefox. Actually i'm running, " Waterfox 56.2.5 64 bit". I'd like to go to FF Quantrum but in doing so i may lose all of my waterfox bookmarks. As far as loosing bookmarks installing another browser where did you get that? Quote "Confucius could give answer to that... unfortunately Confucius not here at moment."
starbuck Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 When you install FF ( or any main browser) it'll ask if you want to import any bookmarks from other browsers that you have installed. 1 Quote
