Posted May 4, 20186 yr I used to used the DISM command which cannot be used with this 1803 compressed OS. Would you bother to convert to .WIM, or, use SFC, images, refresh and reinstall from a stick if all attempts to stabilize the OS failed later on? I know the question is subjective and of an opinion nature but that DISM repair came in handy. Windows has made it easier to fix their compressed OS to a degree. I found a good tutorial from MS to do the conversion as my level of expertise is about high average. I do have images to recover from if necessary. MY machine had 6 GB ram so a VM is not a good idea.
