Signing Into My Gmail Account--Problem

Several times per day gmail requires me to sign into my gmail account. Is there a means of permanently signing in without the sign-in repetition? I'm on a desktop, windows 7, internet explorer.

When you sign in do you check the box that asks if you want to stay signed in with the computer you're on?

I do not see a "box" to check? Hmmm........

I'm now on the Mozilla Waterfox browser as opposed to IE. So far, so good. Will see what happens tomorrow.

Staying signed in to any program is not a very good security measure.
