plodr Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 I was used to seeing a number that alerted me to the new posts. It has now disappeared. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 23, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 23, 2017 I am getting ready to upgrade the site and addons aren't compatible. That feature will be back once the software upgrade is done. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 23, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 23, 2017 The indicator should be working now. If it isn't let me know. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
plodr Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 I take that back. After I click on mark forums read, the number changes to a lower number but it never becomes zero. Also, I can't see to find an edit button I only have Report, Quote and Reply so I can't correct my above post. :help: Quote
plodr Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 Here what I mean 17 new posts showing and yet it says I have no unread posts. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted December 24, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 24, 2017 You have to cluck on What's New and in the drop down menu, click on New Posts, Liz. That will reduce the post count. AS for the Edit button, I don't have one either. I've let Bob, our forum owner know. plodr Posted December 25, 2017 Author Posted December 25, 2017 I did that and it went down from 19 to 18 but it won't go below 18. I repeated it just in case I had to do it 19 times to reduce by 1 each time. It didn't reduce it below 18 Quote
FPCH Staff Rustys Posted December 25, 2017 FPCH Staff Posted December 25, 2017 I am having the same issue the number will not drop below 18. Even after doing Mark Forums Read. Quote "Confucius could give answer to that... unfortunately Confucius not here at moment."
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted December 25, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 25, 2017 I am not having a problem with the post count, once I read the new posts, the number drops to 0. I'm sure that Bob will fix any glitches with the new software. FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 25, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 25, 2017 It is working for me. I have tested it a few times and it always zero's it out. Try logging off and back on. It could be a cookie issue. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted December 25, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 25, 2017 Yes, my What's new is now up to 23 and I can't decrease it. You have to click on the New Posts in the drop down menu of What's New. Once you read the posts, the number will drop. See screenshots below. FPCH Staff Tony D Posted December 26, 2017 FPCH Staff Posted December 26, 2017 I can't find the log in button on my iPad running iOS 7 Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 26, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 26, 2017 The lock icon in faded white is for log in. I will see about fixing it. On my iPhone it is rendering correctly.I don't have an iPad any longer and didn't get to check it. 1 Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
plodr Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 Logged, keep trying to lower the number. Changed from blue to red then back to blue. When I got here today it was at 31. Here's what it is after I Marked forums read 2 or 3 times. Next step, trying a different browser. Quote
plodr Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 Firefox doesn't show the menu items; I have to click to see them. I don't like the way FF renders this Quote
plodr Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 I've tried Vivaldi and I'm now on Internet Explorer. Vivaldi and IE at least render better than FF ESR but all 4 browsers, no matter how many times I click to mark forums read refuse to drop below 25. I suspect the number will just keep increasing for me every day that I visit. It must be something in my profile since all 4 browsers show the same thing when I log in. (I have never used Vivaldi nor IE here). Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 26, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 26, 2017 That is strange. I can't find any issues with it on the server end. Have you tried clearing the browser cache? Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted December 26, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 26, 2017 I am not having any problems with it either but I think both Rusty and Liz are. FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 26, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 26, 2017 It has to be a currpt cookie or old jscript isn't flushed out of the cache. 1 Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
plodr Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Yes. In fact since I don't use the other browsers and clean history of Vivaldi every time I close it, I suspect there is no browser cache. I've also shut odd uBlockOrigin and allowed everything in noscript. Neither made a difference. Today I was at 34 and marking all forums read lowered it to 30. Quote
plodr Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 I disabled the theme I was using - no change. I checked cookies at two spots and they expire at the end of the session so when I log out, they should be gone. I've opened and closed my browser quite a few times and I've clear the browser cache - again. I'm now stuck at 34. And I suspect it will just keep increasing. If I mark forums read it lowers 1 or 2 but still higher than when I left. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted December 27, 2017 FPCH Admin Posted December 27, 2017 Did the domain change fix it? This is strange. I'm going to unistall it and reinstall to see if that helps. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
