Posted June 17, 20177 yr FPCH Admin Walmart has gotten a reputation as one of the most trusted retailers in the world, but they are under heavy fire after a new scheme was launched. The Illinois Sheriff’s Department has just issued a warning to the public about a new scheme where a victim receives a letter in the mail with a check. The letter reportedly tells the recipient that they have been accepted into the “Quality Control” at Walmart. It goes on to inform them of their new “responsibilities.” The check included requires activation with a user id and a password which is supplied in the letter. Once the recipient tries to deposit it into their bank account, the thugs responsible have access to their bank account. Be sure to share this with family and friends! We do not want these thugs getting their hands on any more cash at the expense of innocent Americans. June 18, 20177 yr The way it works is that you have to sign up online and create a username ID and password to give your “feedback.” At that time all of your personal details, including banking account information and social security number, are requested under the guise that they’re needed so you can activate the check. Source: http://www.sun-gazing.com/dont-fooled-new-walmart-scam/ We give NO ONE except the IRS, banks and Medical Offices (but that will change when the new medicare cards come without our SS numbers on them) our SS numbers. Last week we planned to sign up with a different oil company. The woman wanted the last 4 digits of my husband's SS number. Needless to say, he said no and said we'll stick with the current company who has no need for our SS number.
