mikehende Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Hey guys, a while back I had posted for help with my older unit having issues and figured it was the 20-30 tabs being open at the same time which was causing the issues. Now I know for sure that's what it was, just got a brand new win10, i5 8gb Dell machine and same deal. I am wondering why a pc cannot handle 20 or more tabs on a consistent basis? Or what I can possibly do to help the situation? Quote
FPCH Staff Tony D Posted May 9, 2016 FPCH Staff Posted May 9, 2016 I'd think 20 tabs would work, it just may take some time because each tab has to do its own loading. Maybe more RAM will speed up the loading. Quote
mikehende Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 I would think 8gb would be more than sufficient to handle many internet pages. Way I see it, just having open tabs sitting idle should not be using any or much processing power or ram? Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted May 9, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted May 9, 2016 I never have more than a half dozen tabs open at a time. DSTM Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I only have about 6 Tabs open at any one time. mikehende Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 Thanks for the link Cindy, since most of my daily work is research and I am into all sorts of different things, it's very handy and more efficient [time and effort wise] to have all those pages open so I don't agree with everything in that article. Also that article is suggesting cutting down on the amount of open tabs, I am looking for a better solution. What I simply do for now is restart the browser whenever I run into any issues. Quote
FPCH Staff PseFrank Posted May 9, 2016 FPCH Staff Posted May 9, 2016 Which browser do you use Mike? And do you have a speed dial installed? Quote Says Don't wait until your computer goes bang. Back up your files now! Free Photo Restoration and Repair for all Forum Members - CLICK HERE
