Why can't a pc handle many tabs?

Hey guys, a while back I had posted for help with my older unit having issues and figured it was the 20-30 tabs being open at the same time which was causing the issues. Now I know for sure that's what it was, just got a brand new win10, i5 8gb Dell machine and same deal. I am wondering why a pc cannot handle 20 or more tabs on a consistent basis? Or what I can possibly do to help the situation?

I'd think 20 tabs would work, it just may take some time because each tab has to do its own loading. Maybe more RAM will speed up the loading.

I would think 8gb would be more than sufficient to handle many internet pages. Way I see it, just having open tabs sitting idle should not be using any or much processing power or ram?

I never have more than a half dozen tabs open at a time.

Thanks for the link Cindy, since most of my daily work is research and I am into all sorts of different things, it's very handy and more efficient [time and effort wise] to have all those pages open so I don't agree with everything in that article. Also that article is suggesting cutting down on the amount of open tabs, I am looking for a better solution. What I simply do for now is restart the browser whenever I run into any issues.

And do you have a speed dial installed?

I use Firefox and no I never knew about speed dial.
