Hey Pete, how's it going? Just would like to inquire about something for any possible future purposes. If a tablet starts locking up due to malware infection and you can't run an online scan and since it doesn't have a USB port, how would you be able to clean the infection please?

Hi Mike,

Sorry for the delay.

When you say 'Tablet' are you talking about Android?

If so, there's not a lot you can do.... Android is based on Linux and none of the tools we use will work on that OS.

There are some security vendors that do produce programs for Android... Eset, Kaspersky, Bit Defender etc

But the scans aren't quite up to the 'Windows' versions, so don't always remove any possible malware.

Plus these programs aren't updated as often as the 'Windows' ones.

Best answer always seems to be.... reset the device back to factory settings.

It seems harsh I know, but that's the only thing that seems to work at this present time.
