N3 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 I'm using "Waterfox" as my browser & discovered that my bookmarks disappeared! Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted April 25, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted April 25, 2016 You saved them once before, I helped you do it. You can just import them from the bookmarks folder. FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted April 26, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted April 26, 2016 Okay, N3. You exported your "Favorites" from IE and you saved them to a folder in your Documents. This is the thread ....Want To Copy My IE Favorites Just follow the directions in this thread to import them to Waterfox. N3 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Cindy.......My Bookmarks vanished from "Waterfox". I don't need to copy/transfer anything from IE. Quote
DSTM Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 A system restore may bring them back. Presume you did have your bookmarks. FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted April 26, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted April 26, 2016 Don't you have the same bookmarks in IE that you did in Waterfox? If so, simply import your IE favorites into Waterfox from the folder that you created when you exported them. N3 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Dougie....I did a system restore & no bookmarks. Cindy......What's in my IE favorites now are different then what 'was' in my waterfox bookmarks. Whatever the case I'm resigned to the fact that my bookmarks are gone. Thanks to all for your suggestions. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted April 27, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted April 27, 2016 Sorry, N3. I assumed that your bookmarks were the same as what you had in IE. N3 Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 No, I installed waterfox while firefox was already installed. Eventually I uninstalled firefox. Yes to your second question. Quote
FPCH Staff PseFrank Posted April 27, 2016 FPCH Staff Posted April 27, 2016 Dougie explained this to me earlier on today and we both think there's still an outside chance that your bookmarks are intact. Try the following... Open your Waterfox browser... 1. At the top of your screen left click on "Bookmarks". (Between History & Tools) 2. Left click on "Show All Bookmarks". 3. Left click on the "Import and Backup" tab. 4. From the drop down menu move your cursor onto (hover) "Restore". If you still have your bookmarks you will see a list like the image below. Your dates may be different than the pic. If you do see a list, then go to step 5. If you don't see anything in that menu...Then sadly you've lost your bookmarks for good...... :( 5. Left click on the entry at the top of the list. 6. Click "OK" in the box that appears. 7. Close the window and restart the Waterfox browser. Hope this works out for you... 3 Quote Says Don't wait until your computer goes bang. Back up your files now! Free Photo Restoration and Repair for all Forum Members - CLICK HERE
