Digerati Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 @Bill - I am beginning to understand the functionality of the cables. I appreciate your taking the time to explain all of this. It will go in my learning folder for a time when i wish to proceed. Just when you get it down pat, a new standard will come out! ;) Quote Bill (AFE7Ret) Freedom is NOT Free! peterr Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 Ain't that the way!! :) I am unable to use the emoticons. Is it browser sensitive? This is Edge and I will try Chrome. Quote
peterr Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 :clap:Apparently the emoticons work with Chrome but not Edge, at least for me. Quote
Digerati Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 :p:( This is with Edge. Quote Bill (AFE7Ret) Freedom is NOT Free! Windows and Devices for IT, 2007 - 2018 Heat is the bane of all electronics! ────────────────────────

peterr Posted April 15, 2016 Author Posted April 15, 2016 Hello all I am writing this note because I found the answer to the thread. I stared it and always like to report back. it seems I have been wasting your valuable time. I had an issue with an IOBIT folder that would not go way. I could have used 'Unlocker' but instead did a Macrium recovery back to March. I have no flicker at all and my PC was like brand new. The only change was that I had 6 NVidea entries not three. I still have not gone for the newest gaming update b/c i don't game and all is stable.I now know that removing the three entries caused the problem. I now leaned what NVidea installs except the gaming update is what is needed. I really am sorry to have engaged in such a lengthy thread without giving you all this information. I learned a lot and hopefully others will read this thread and learn as I did. Peter P.S. I seriously think something should be done about IOBIT. The check box for all those tools is barely visible and even when you uncheck it, it defaults to the check again when you click to install. 1 Quote
Bill M. Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 IOBIT has a long history of trouble Peterr. Best thing you might do is think about removing -uninstalling all of IOBIT, IMO. 2 Quote

Digerati Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 IObit first got my attention years ago when it was discovered the Chinese company was stealing proprietary and intellectual property (IP) from Malwarebytes. That's how the Chinese government advances their own technologies - they steal it so it is no wonder Chinese companies have no qualms doing it either. While IOBit later apologized and claimed to have removed any improperly obtained IP, there still is the question of the program's usefulness. There are many who feel IOBit is, at best, worthless. And at worse, harmful - if not malicious. Either way, you don't need it. I agree with the others, get rid of it. Quote Bill (AFE7Ret) Freedom is NOT Free! peterr Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 Regarding flickering with Chrome and not Edge was solved by reinstalling Chrome. I hope this helps another viewer. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted May 10, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted May 10, 2016 Thanks, Peter. I am sure that it will. Quote ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~ ~~Robert McCloskey~~
Digerati Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Hmmm, I don't see where you ever said before the flickering did not occur with other browsers. I note there have been complaints for years about flickering with Chrome and the common solution was to disable "Use hardware acceleration when available" in Chrome's Advanced settings.
