FPCH Staff Tony D Posted February 2, 2016 FPCH Staff Posted February 2, 2016 I received calls from 2 customers today. Both are running W7 and both have problems that seem to be associated with an update. Stuck at configuring Windows or something like that. Anyone else seeing this? Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted February 2, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted February 2, 2016 I haven't seen any like this lately Tony. Someone else may have though. FPCH Staff Tony D Posted February 3, 2016 Author FPCH Staff Posted February 3, 2016 Maybe just a coincidence. I haven't seen either of the machines yet. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted February 3, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted February 3, 2016 I had that happen on one of the work laptops. I did a forced reboot and when it started up it rolled back to before update with a message recent updates failed and to try again. I ran Windows update again and it worked without a problem. DSTM Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) In my case the configure process stayed on 0% on two new computers with clean installs in the last week. I knew it would say reverting any second so before it did I hard shut down regardless says "Do not turn off your computer" and waited 1 hr. I rebooted and the configure process % continued fine immediately. No futher update problems since. Bob's way works as well. Neither computer suffered any ill effects hard shutting down. Hard shutdown at your own risk when it says not to.
