Hey guys, this laptop came with XP but I installed Vista 32BIT and the wireless driver from here:

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/servicetag/1d5c1j1/drivers/advanced?s=bsd

Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN MiniCard, Wireless 1490 Dual-Band WLAN MiniCard, Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card, Wireless 1395 WLAN MiniCard, Dell Wireless 13xx, 14xx, 1505 MiniCard, v.5.100.235.13, A37

Latitude D630

Service Tag: 1D5C1J1 | Express Service Code: 2971802557

Would the Hardware ID work in this case since this is not the original OS for this laptop please?

Dell has the wireless driver for Vista 32 bit, is that the one that you downloaded?

Did you use the drop down menu to select Vista 32 bit?

If it is and it's not working, then the Vendor and Hardware ID is needed for a different driver.

Ohh, I was wondering if since the dell driver is not working that the device and vendor id's would still apply seeing that this is a different OS than what the system was designed for:

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4312&SUBSYS_00071028&REV_01

On the Dell drivers support page, did you use the drop down menu to select Vista 32 bit, Mike?

You won't believe this, I was updating the unit all this time and when it got to the last update it showed a Broadcom driver update so I updated and now the wireless net works, this doesn't make any sense to me since the only wireless driver still showing in the DM is the Dell one?

I'm not surprised at all.

Dell has the habit of throwing in other hardware whenever they feel like it.
