FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted January 23, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted January 23, 2016 Well, we have approximately 10" and counting right now. We are expected to get 22" or more today and throughout the night. I hope we don't lose power or internet. FPCH Staff Tony D Posted January 23, 2016 FPCH Staff Posted January 23, 2016 You gotta shovel a place for poochie to go. I spent about an hour with the snow blower clearing my driveway this morning. There was a good 12 inches of snow, not even counting the snow drifts or that pile the township snow plow left at the end of my driveway. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted January 23, 2016 Author FPCH Admin Posted January 23, 2016 Yeah, Rod just finished shoveling out back so Jax has a place to go. He's working on the front now with the snow blower. It's still coming down so he's going to have to do it again tonight. I may have under-estimated at 10", it looks more like 15", if not more. FPCH Admin AWS Posted January 23, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted January 23, 2016 Stay safe. Looks like it's your turn for the big snowstorms. 1 Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
FPCH Admin AWS Posted January 23, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted January 23, 2016 I just heard on the news that the worst is yet to come for you. Looks like this is going to a record breaker. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted January 23, 2016 Author FPCH Admin Posted January 23, 2016 Yeah, I'm really worried that we are going to lose power. There are already 20, 000 reported power outages in Lower Bucks County. Doesn't bode well for us.... Now that is just brutal, N3! :D My granddaughter, trying to find her sandbox. She finally gave up! N3 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Cindy......I'll bet your granddaughter enjoyed the snow. When i was a child & a teenager, i loved having a blizzard! It meant that schools were called off. Quote
Mommalina Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 My daughter's aging dog relishes eating the snow. All the snow intake may be the reason for frequent requests to go outdoors, or he just likes rolling in the snow. 1 Quote
Bill M. Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Nice to see you online this morning Cindy. Glad you made it through the night with power! Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted January 24, 2016 Author FPCH Admin Posted January 24, 2016 Thanks, Bill! :D I think we ended up with 28" of snow. FPCH Admin AWS Posted January 24, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted January 24, 2016 How high are the drifts? You got high winds too don't you? Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted January 24, 2016 Author FPCH Admin Posted January 24, 2016 Yes, the winds were up to 50 miles an hour and we have a lot of 4 and 5 foot drifts. (At least the ones that I can see, I haven't been out in this mess yet.) FPCH Staff Tony D Posted January 24, 2016 FPCH Staff Posted January 24, 2016 28.2 inches reported in the news for Malvern, PA. Everything's good here so far. Had to run the snow blower a few times yesterday. 1 Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted January 24, 2016 Author FPCH Admin Posted January 24, 2016 Rod is out running the snow blower again and doing some more shoveling from the snow that we got late last night. I am so glad that it's over and that we survived without losing power. A lot of people didn't fare as well as we did. Quote ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~ ~~Robert McCloskey~~
Mommalina Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 By some miracle we (suburb of Philadelphia) did not lose power in spite of high winds and tons of snow! Power outages are a frequent occurrence in this borough. I live in a first-floor condo apartment -- if I were allowed to and could handle it, I'd be tempted to buy a generator. Poor guy two doors away is having a fit! I think management hired some inexperienced locals to use snow blowers instead of shovels in between vehicles and other tight areas. They buried my neighbor's car parked in front of his unit as well as a path to his front door. I'd be livid too!:real_anger: Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted January 24, 2016 Author FPCH Admin Posted January 24, 2016 Yeah, my daughters driveway was plowed over by the street plows. She had about a six foot mound at the bottom of her driveway. Rod and my grandson had to get rid of it. It took the snow blower and the two of them shoveling almost three hours. It was a mess.
