Posted December 18, 20159 yr Hey guys, I reloaded vista on this compaq presario sr2170nx desktop. It's missing th PCI simple communications driver, looking at the driver page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/Compaq-Presario-SR2000-Desktop-PC-series/3339270/model/3340206 I am not seeing a chipset driver or the PCI driver, help please?
December 18, 20159 yr FPCH Admin It looks to me that those drivers are supplied by Windows. I have seen this many times. The chipset and pci drivers are reliant on the Windows builds. Another Forum - Unlike the Rest
December 18, 20159 yr Author So how do I solve this problem please? Everytime I restart it's asking for that driver.
December 18, 20159 yr Author Also I am not seeing a display driver on that page? The internet is working fine but youtube video is choppy.
December 19, 20159 yr FPCH Admin If you select all Windows updates and let it roll, Windows should supply the needed drivers, Mike. ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~~~Robert McCloskey~~
