1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Paltalk Messenger\ApnOC.dll a variant of Win32/Bundled.Toolbar.Ask.M potentially unsafe application

2. Operating memory a variant of Win32/Bundled.Toolbar.Ask.M potentially unsafe application

I found the above with Eset Online Scanner. Malwarebytes Pro, JRT, & AdwCleane could not eliminate it.

Hi N3,

ApnOC.dll is part of the Ask.com (APN) network which will install the Ask.com branded toolbar or browser extension which will take control of the web browser's search functions.

This is why it has been flagged.

Believe it or not some people actually use the toolbar and want it installed.... but because it's also bundled with legit programs, it sometimes gets installed without your knowledge.

The term.... potentially unsafe application.... is actually a bit misleading as only 3 out of 57 scanners at Virus Total flag it. ( the rest say it's clean... including MalwareBytes)

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

The Ask toolbar can be disabled fairly easily.
