Posted October 20, 20159 yr Over the last few weeks, we’ve been celebrating new Windows 10 devices as they were unveiled around the world. It’s been an incredible journey – traveling 29,000 miles in less than two weeks from NYC to Barcelona to San Francisco to Taipei to Tokyo to Seoul and back to San Francisco. We’ve been celebrating our innovative partners and the Windows 10 devices they are bringing to people around the world. We started off in NYC, where we introduced new Surface, Lumia, and Band devices and shared the latest from HoloLens, and Xbox. With products like Surface Book, you can see how we’re investing in hardware experiences to reinvent categories and create opportunities for the Windows ecosystem. Our new hardware was designed to be complementary to our partners, and I was excited to hit the road and join them as they unveiled their holiday device line-up. On our world tour, we saw over 50 great new devices from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG, and Toshiba. You can see some highlights below. Nick Parker, our Corporate Vice President of OEM partnerships, also collected some of his favorite photos to share in this Sway – you can check it out here. Since the debut of Windows 10, we’ve encouraged our hardware partners to put the operating system to work – and they are doing just that with their incredible new devices, which light up with Cortana, Microsoft Edge, Continuum, Xbox, and so much more. Along with our partners, we can’t wait for you to enjoy a great new Windows 10 device this holiday! HP Our world tour began in Barcelona, where HP announced new premium PCs featuring one-of-kind hardware in sleek industrial designs, bright high-resolution displays and Audio by Bang & Olufsen. New devices like the HP Spectre x2, HP ENVY 8 Note, HP Notebook, HP ENVY Curved All-in-One, HP ENVY All-in-One, HP Pavillion Gaming Notebook, HP Spectre x360, HP Stream Notebook PCs, and HP ENVY 32 Media Display were unveiled. Each PC is built with powerful processors and delivers amazing Windows 10 experiences. HP’s line-up – which ranges from $299 to $1499 – takes the innovation of Windows and makes it accessible to everyone. It was my honor to join Ron Coughlin, SVP GM Consumer PC’s, services and solutions- Hewlett Packard for this event in beautiful Barcelona. Dell While I was in Barcelona, Yusuf Mehdi joined Dell in New York City to showcase several of the newest Dell XPS devices, optimized especially for Windows 10. Dell’s new devices, including the Dell XPS 15 laptop, Dell XPS 13 laptop, and Dell XPS 12 2-in-1 shown in New York City bring the best of Windows 10 to life and offer our customers a range of choices. ASUS Next, I returned to San Francisco, where I joined ASUS Chairman, Jonney Shih onstage at ROG Unleashed. Jonney and team introduced the new Republic of Gaming (ROG) hardware line- up, built exclusively on Windows 10. Incredible new gaming devices were showcased, including the all-new ROG GX700, ROG G752, and ROG G20 Compact Desktop PL. It was fun to highlight the gaming innovations on Windows 10 – Game DVR, an Xbox app, and DirectX 12 – and see unprecedented speed, performance and graphics come to life on the ROG line-up. Acer Next we were off to Asia, where we first joined Acer in Taipei to showcase a range of new devices, making Windows 10 accessible to everyone from office workers to students to people in emerging markets around the world. The Aspire R14 convertible notebook and the Aspire Z3-700 portable all-in-one PC are built to deliver Windows 10 experiences with prices starting at US$699 and €599 in EMEA. Acer’s full line-up of Windows 10 devices spans form factors and price points, including 2-in-1s, notebooks, all-in-ones, phones Predator gaming rigs and the Aspire One Cloudbook starting at US$169 and designed with education customers in mind. Toshiba In Tokyo, we joined Toshiba to celebrate the Toshiba dynaPad. In Japan, our Windows customers have the highest rate of pen usage worldwide, so it was the perfect place to showcase the new advanced note-taking technology in Toshiba’s new dynaPad, taking advantage of the ability to write and annotate on our Microsoft Edge browser. In addition to being a powerful note-taking device – designed to replicate the way people write on paper – the dynaPad has great support for Continuum, and is ultra-thin and lightweight. LG My last tour stop was with LG in Seoul, Korea. I joined Brian Kwon, President of LG Home Entertainment Company, for a panel discussion on Windows 10 and LG devices. Windows 10 is off to a great start in Korea, with the fastest adoption the market has ever seen for Windows – five times faster than Windows 8, with over 1 billion hours spent on Windows 10 since launch. LG announced their new Windows 10 devices, including the gram 13”, gram 14”, Tabbook Duo (10.1” Tablet), and 21:9 Curved AIO. And, we’re excited to welcome the LG gram to Microsoft Stores this holiday. Lenovo The fun continued yesterday as Joe Belfiore wrapped up the tour with Lenovo in San Francisco, where they announced their new line up of YOGA PCs built with Windows 10, the Lenovo YOGA 900 Convertible Laptop and the Lenovo YOGA Home 900 Portable All-in-One Desktop. These two next-gen home computers provide portability, adaptability, and style, all while taking full advantage of Windows 10 features. The YOGA 900 and YOGA Home 900 continue Lenovo’s longstanding trend of blending design, functionality, and user choice. This tour was a fun opportunity to highlight new Windows 10 devices that were shown for the first time, but the ecosystem is already robust. Last month, our device partners built more Windows devices than they ever have before in the history of Windows and since launch, we’ve been excited to see share increases for Windows at retail. And we’re just getting started. By this holiday, we expect to see the widest range of Windows hardware ever available. Our partners are bringing hundreds of new Windows 10 devices to market now through holiday. Thanks to all of our partners for an incredible few weeks! Terry Continue reading...
