Guest Terry Myerson Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Our trip around the world unveiling new Windows 10 devices continued today in Taipei, where I was honored to join Acer CEO Jason Chen to unveil Windows 10 devices from Acer. Acer showcased a range of new devices, enabling Windows 10 devices to be accessible to everyone from office workers to students to people in emerging markets around the world. The Aspire R14 convertible notebook and the Aspire Z3-700 portable all-in-one PC are built to deliver Windows 10 experiences – great for productivity or entertainment – including Cortana, gaming, Microsoft Edge and Skype. Both devices are optimized with top-of-the-line audio to take advantage of Cortana’s functionality, and both feature Acer’s BluelightShield technology – which reduces blue light emission from the screen, reducing eye strain. The Acer Aspire R 14 will be available in North America in late October with prices starting at US$699 and in EMEA in late October with prices starting at €799. The Acer Aspire Z3-700 will be available in EMEA by the end of the year starting at €599. Of course Acer’s full line-up of Windows 10 devices spans form factors and price points, including 2-in-1s, notebooks, all-in-ones, Predator gaming rigs and the Aspire One Cloudbook starting at US$169 and designed with education customers in mind. The Acer team also showcased the Liquid Jade Primo smartphone running Windows 10. The Liquid Jade Primo shows the promise of Continuum, enabling the smartphone to work like a PC when connected to a secondary display. We worked closely with the Acer team through-out the development of these new devices, which ensures our customers can make the most of Windows 10. You can also see the promise of the familiar and consistent experience we are delivering with Windows 10 extending across their device line-up, from notebooks to PCs to phones. We are excited to welcome these Acer devices to the Windows 10 family – thanks to the Acer team for a great event in Taipei. Terry Continue reading... Quote
