Mommalina Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 XP Pro. I'm ready to buy an Azio backlit keyboard and want to order a mouse from Amazon at the same time. A wireless mouse in the past did not turn me on (neither did a wireless keyboard). Any mouse recommendations? I purchased a Microsoft Comfort 3000 at a retail store. I'm experiencing problems mentioned in the negative reviews I later read on line and would keep this one as a backup. Thanks! Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted September 6, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted September 6, 2015 I have three Logitech and one Microsoft mouse that I use. They are all wireless, unfortunately. I have to say though, I prefer the Logitech over the Microsoft any day. I don't think you can go wrong with Logitech, just about any model as long as it's a full size mouse, Lina. Mommalina Posted September 6, 2015 Author Posted September 6, 2015 Thanks, Cindy. I'll take a look at Logitech in full size (?) I did not know they came in different sizes. Would appreciate Logitech full-size, wired mouse recommendations from other forum members? Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted September 6, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted September 6, 2015 They make smaller size mice for laptops, Lina. I find it difficult to use the smaller ones but that's just me.... Plastic Nev Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I also go for the Logitech, very reliable mouse and no trouble for me and I have the marble mouse type with the roller ball, a type not suited to a lot of folk, however I love it. One of these :- http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/product/4786 No more shoving and pushing a reluctant mouse over sticky surfaces, it stays put and the marble ball moves the pointer/cursor just with your finger tips. The only down side is that it doesn't have a scroll wheel. Nev. Quote
Mommalina Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 Thanks very much, Nev. Looks great but not for me. I think I would really miss not having a scroll wheel. Quote
Plastic Nev Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Being a south paw, (Left handed) I use the mouse with my left hand, which leaves my right hand free for the up/down keys on the keyboard if really needed, however the roller ball is so quick and easy, I just grab the right hand scroll bar on screen and drag it downwards. Basically I have learned how to live without a scroll wheel. However there is a more recent roller ball type mouse now that does have a scroll wheel, unfortunately this also has some drawbacks, first it is wireless, so means messing with batteries, secondly it is right handed only due to its shape, I doubt I could change finger and thumb use on this one and still use it left handed. My right hand is useless for fine control, especially since I turned 60, as I could never write legibly with my right hand when I was younger, it is virtually impossible to write at all with my right hand now. http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/product/wireless-trackball-m570 Nev. Louis Parker III Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 From a computer tech with over 15 years hands on experience...... Logitech is arguably the best!!!! in that business! All Os platforms will always support it/them 2 Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted October 1, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted October 1, 2015 I agree, I love Logitech. It is my preferred mouse even over Microsoft. FPCH Admin AWS Posted October 1, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted October 1, 2015 I used a Trackball Explorer for years. I loved it. Too bad Microsoft decided to discontinue it. Now I use a Logitech mouse and would highly recommend them. It took me a while to get used to using a regular mouse again. Once I did I found the controls on the Logitech were perfect and mouse reaction much better. This is the one I use: http://support.logitech.com/product/performance-mouse-mx Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
IceMan37 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 I replaced my Dell Optical mouse with a Logitech m500 and really like it. This one here. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-910-001204-Corded-Mouse-M500/dp/B002B3YCQM Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted February 14, 2016 FPCH Admin Posted February 14, 2016 Thanks for the recommendation, William. :) You should check this one out and see what you think of it, Lina. IceMan37 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 You're welcome and yes it is one of the best mice I have ever used, and I have used a Razor Death Adder before as well. This one, you need not even install the Logitech software really unless you just have to have lots of "bling" functionality it works great without it. It also has this really cool extra middle button that when depressed (deep click it) will make the regular scroll wheel go smooth, just like the recent Microsoft Intellimouse Hit the regular scroll wheel it will auto-scroll the complete web page or document from top to bottom or bottom to top in a very neat fashion. Deep click that extra button again and you get the traditional middle wheel clicking action on the scroll wheel. They have also really improved the lazer on this mouse for tracking and it games very nicely. As good as my older Death Adder in games but a better overall mouse. Perfect shape for the hand as well. Mommalina Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 Cindy, I'll make a note of William's mouse recommendation for my next mouse. Thanks to both of you ♥ I can't remember why or who recommended it, but I bought this one 4 months ago for $8.98. I was using Amazon Trial Prime, and went on a spending spree, I guess. It's now selling for $8.55. Microsoft Optical Mouse 200 for Business - White http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005058AH0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01 It's smaller that my last one, fits nicely in my hand. Took a little getting used to, but I'm doing great with it now. Nothing ventured, nothing lost .. ;) Quote
