starbuck Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 One of the more praised features people like about Windows 10 is the return of the Start Menu. Although many people love the Windows 8-style tiles on the Start Menu, there are also many people who prefer a classic Windows 7 style Start Menu. Luckily for those people, there is a solution. Stardock has retooled its application Start Menu app for Windows 10. Similar to its Windows 8 origins, the Stardock app replaces the tile-filled Start Menu into a Windows 7 classic menu. Called Start10, this application lets users can get their familiar menu back and still enjoy the new features and security of Windows 10. It’s only $5, so you don’t have spend an arm and leg getting your familiar desktop back. We’re aware there will be alternatives to Start10, and some of them may be free, but we feel Stardock has done a really good job designing the application and adding some pretty cool features and options. For example, there are a few neat themes and configurations that can be made to the Start10 menu and you can choose to make your menu look more modern or make it almost resemble Windows 7 exactly. Better yet, you can still access the Windows 10 Start Menu too if you need to. Why not take it for a spin yourself? It’s currently in beta at the moment, but you can get a 30-day free trial to the software. After using it and if you like it, $5.00 is not a bad deal. The official public release of the application will be on August 12th, so it’s not far away. Start10 Source: http://www.winbeta.org/news/windows-10-how-get-classic-start-menu-back-start10 Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted August 1, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted August 1, 2015 I love the new start menu. I would only one the classic back for nostalgic purposes. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
starbuck Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 No problems for me either. I've got my Win10 Start Menu set up just how I like it. The Win7 Start Menu is so boring... why do people like it so much. Quote
starbuck Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) Although I won't be keeping the program, I did install it just to see what difference it made. and for some idea of the setting choices. For $5 It's well worth it. If you are desperate to get the Win7 style start menu..... you won't feel ripped off. It does what it says on the tin! Uninstall was nice and clean..... no folders/files left after a reboot. :) Edited August 1, 2015 by starbuck Quote
