Back in April we talked about how we’re delivering a unified Store experience in Windows 10. We also turned on the Movies & TV page in the Windows Store Beta. Starting today (rolling out over the course of the next 24 hours), we’re turning on the Music page in the Store Beta. If you’re a Windows Insider running the latest build of the Windows 10 Insider Preview (Build 10130 and version 3.6.1068.0 of the Music app), you can go to the Music page in the Store Beta and browse new albums and top songs, browse for music by genre, and purchase music you want to own. If you have an Xbox Music Pass – you can still add music to your collection directly within the Music app. But to purchase songs and albums – you will do this via the Store Beta. Please note that the experience you will see today is unfinished and we have a lot more work to do. For example, purchased music won’t download automatically so you’ll have to launch the Music app to do that.

Windows Insiders in the following countries will see Music available to purchase: US, Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Now that the music experience is almost lit up end-to-end, we’re making a few more changes to get us ready for the release of Windows 10 on July 29th. No more “Preview” – out with the old and in with the new! The new music and video experiences are now the default in the Windows 10 Insider Preview. Now when you launch the Music and Video apps, you’ll get the new apps. The preview versions will be removed in future builds.

We can’t wait to hear your feedback on the new music experience in the unified Store and on the latest versions of our apps. Keep submitting feedback in the Windows Feedback app…we’ll be waiting.
