You can't send email from your Apple Watch, but you can read any email sent to you.

While you can use your Apple Watch to dictate text message replies, the inability to edit text makes the same system ill-suited for longer and potentially more complex emails. So, there's no Siri for Mail, but there is a read-only version of the Mail app on your Apple Watch. You can see what's been sent your way, and can even mark mail as unread, flag it, and delete it. To respond, however, you'll have to hand off to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Here's how it all works!

How to set email notifications on the Apple Watch app for iPhone

The easiest way to read new emails on your Apple Watch is as they come in, and that means using the Apple Watch's notifications system.

  1. Launch the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on the My Watch tab.
  3. Tap on Notifications.
  4. Tap on Mail.

  5. Tap Mirror iPhone to use the same notification settings as on your iPhone. Tap Custom to set additional options.

    1. Tap an Inbox you want to enable.
    2. Toggle Show Alerts to ON.
    3. Toggle Sound and/or Haptics on to choose between audio or physical notifications, or both.

[*]Repeat for each inbox.

There are additional, general options you can set, including the notification indicator and Notification Center, which lets you view notifications you didn't open when they came in.

    1. Swipe up on the Mail app handoff icon from the bottom left corner of the lock screen.
    2. Unlock your iPhone or iPad, if prompted.
