I was moving files from the main server to the backup server. Normally I have a batch script do the job at various intervals. I noticed the backups were all a week old so I went to investigate what happened. I checked event viewer for any failed tasks and everything seemed normal. I them manually fired the batch file and everything seemed to work. Switched to the backup server RDP window and no new files were there.

So I decided I'd just copy them over the old fashioned way one zip at a time. I copied the first zip and when I went to paste it to the back up server the RDP connection shutdown and reconnected. I then got an unspecified error copying files.. Tried on a couple other zips and got the same thing. I know there is a problem with Windows 2012 and large file copies over RDP, but, none of the files are that big. Biggest is maybe 50 or 60 megs.

I've tried shutting down and restarting both servers. I don't think it's a network problem because the servers are hardwired together and connect from one to the other with RDP. I haven't had any problems before and after troubleshooting it until 3 this morning I gave up took the drive out of the backup server, put it in the hotswap sata box and copied the files onto it then moved the drive back to the main server.

Has anyone had any problems with copy and paste with RDP?
