Mommalina Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 XP Pro, Firefox 37.0.1 Recently I was asked by FF if I wanted to install a better version of FF (or something like that). It wiped out my add-ons, including Ad Block. I'd like to re-install Ad Block. FF offers different versions. Is Flash Block 40.20.13 what I need? (It only has a 3-star rating.) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-block/?src=api' Or is Ads No More 2.1 better? (Also 3-star rating). https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ads-no-more/?src=api I'm sorry I ever "upgraded." Was satisfied with whatever it was I had. Quote
Mommalina Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 Let me confuse you even more: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=ad-block&platform=WINNT&appver=37.0.1 Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted April 13, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted April 13, 2015 I'm pretty sure that you want AdBlock Plus for Firefox. I believe it's what most Firefox users use. :D https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/ Quote ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~ ~~Robert McCloskey~~
Mommalina Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Gee whiz, FF could not have made it more complicated. I clicked something like check add-ons. You'd think they'd have had AdBlock Plus first on the list. I'm not sure it was even on the list! :ouch: Again, thanks very much, Cindy. Quote

Mommalina Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Here is a better alternative to adblock+. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/ublock/ My Dumb Question of the Day: Can I have two different adblocks installed on same computer? Although my Ad Block Plus works fine along with Ad Muncher, I assume your answer is no to 2 adblocks. I'd install the adblock you suggest, AWS, if I had another computer on which to test it first - no such luck. What do you like about it? Anyone else try it? Thanks. Quote
DSTM Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Hi Mommalina. I am running Adblock Plus and ublock together with no problems I can see to date. Just adds more filters is my reasoning. I see no conflicts.:) 1 Quote Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm Schizophrenic, and so am I Free Photo Restoration and Repair for all Forum members - CLICK HERE Please pop back and let us know if your Computer problem has been solved.
FPCH Admin AWS Posted April 14, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) I had them both running at the same time also without issues. Edited April 15, 2015 by AWS Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest

starbuck Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I switched over to uBlock awhile back. Found it was actually better than AdBlocker. Quote
