Posted March 8, 20159 yr When i go to a url site the url page does not fully extend to the width & height of my screen. I'll get a one inch margin either on the top or bottom. I've tried using my mouse to 'pull' the page to the maximum height & width. I then went to the upper right of the screen & clicked the central square. Unfortunately this didn't help. Suggestions please?
March 8, 20159 yr FPCH Admin I've had the same problem before. After you stretch the window, click the central square on the top right. Then go to the left side of your window and at the top, click on File and Exit to close the window. The next time you open the window it should be full size. If it's not you may have to repeat the steps a couple of times. ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~~~Robert McCloskey~~
March 9, 20159 yr Author Thanks Cindy....Unfortunately it didn't work.....This problem occurred when I chose to use IE as my browser. May look for an alternate browser.

March 9, 20159 yr FPCH Admin Is it the browser doesn't fill the screen when maximized or the page doesn't fill the browser window? Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
March 9, 20159 yr Author Bob......That's a good question & I am unable to distinguish the difference between the two?
March 9, 20159 yr FPCH Admin The browser has a border around it when not full screen. If there is no border then you're at full screen.  Now many sites will not fill all the screen. Many set to fill a percent or set amount of pixels. Free PC Help Forum is set at 1180px. Some set at 92%. Unless a site has a true fluid design which is one set to max width of 100% a page will never fill up the browser. Can you take a screenshot of what you're seeing and post it? March 9, 20159 yr Author Bob.....Since I'm having multiple problems with my computer I've decided to do a restore to the system default.
March 9, 20159 yr FPCH Admin What other types of problems are you having with your computer, N3? Anything that we can help you with? Do you suspect that you have malware? ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~~~Robert McCloskey~~
March 9, 20159 yr Author No thank you cindy. I prefer to go back to system default & have a clean slate. One question though.....In what order should i download various programs such as "windows updates, firewall, anti-virus/anti-spyware, etc?
March 9, 20159 yr FPCH Admin Updates first after clean install. Windows Firewall should be installed and already turned on as will Windows Defender. Then install the virus/malware scanner of you choice. I myself only use Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. Been keeping me protected for a few years like that. Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
March 9, 20159 yr Author Thanks for the info bob. I'll probably open a can of worms on my next question/comment....Is minimal defense using one antivirus & one antimalware the preference by most of the members here?
March 9, 20159 yr FPCH Admin I use Eset Nod32 and Malwarebytes Pro along with Ad-Muncher. I find that that's all I really need. ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~~~Robert McCloskey~~
March 9, 20159 yr Hi I myself only use Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. Been keeping me protected for a few years like that. I use MSE and Malwarebytes Premium. MSE for W7 is the same thing as Windows Defender for W8 Some times you're the wind shield. Some times you're the bug!!:(
March 10, 20159 yr FPCH Admin Cindy.....Do you configure AD-Muncher or use the default? I have one machine that I configured Ad-Muncher on and the others I am just using the default settings. To ne honest, N3, I don't see any difference between them. ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~~~Robert McCloskey~~
