donetao Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Hi! I want a software program that will find every registry entry that a software program puts in my registry. I want it to make a complete list of all the entries that I can delete after I uninstall a program I no longer want on my computer. Is that to much to ask for? Wise uninstaller and Revo and all the other uninstallers leave registry entries behind after you use them to uninstall a program you no longer want. If you install and uninstall a lot of programs, these left over registry entries will build up over time. I know you can use a virtual machine to test software.I'm talking about a program you have installed and have been running, but now you no longer want that program. Sure you can go into Regedit and use the F3 feature to find and delete these left over registry entries. That will work, but that's very time consuming. I just uninstalled Paltalk with Wise uninstaller. It left 50+ registry entries still installed in my registry. I don't want them in my registry. I have a program that will do this, but it's tied in to a registry cleaner, and this forum doesn't approve of registry cleaners. I don't approve of registry cleansers either. I want to make that perfectly clear. I use Search Everything to remove all left over folders after uninstalling a program and it does a great job. Do you have a program that will find left over registry entries after you uninstall a program?? Well then create one, you will be a millionaire.;);) When I get bored, these things occupy my thoughts so I post them here on Free PC Help Forum and get in trouble!:(:( Quote Some times you're the wind shield. FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted March 7, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted March 7, 2015 Orphaned registry keys rarely create a problem. So I don't worry about it until or unless it gives me a problem and then it's usually when something didn't uninstall properly. So I don't worry about it until or unless it gives me a problem and then it's usually when something didn't uninstall properly. Yuppers Orphaned keys can sure cause problems when trying to install a program that didn't get uninstalled properly. Anti-Virus programs come to my mind. I guess I'm just a clean freak and I don't want a bunch of crap in my registry that I don't need. I feel very confident when I go in my registry and left over entries are not welcome in my registry.:D The good old regedit and F3 is good, but I want some thing better! Thank you for your reply;) Quote Some times you're the wind shield. Some times you're the bug!!:(
donetao Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Yuppers! There are 14 new registry entries in my registry now, after making a zip file with PSR of Paltalk software, which I have setting on my desk top. My program found them. Now that's pretty cool!:coolsun:don't you think @Cats-4_Owners-2 I take pride in learning every thing about my W7. I pretty much know every thing that's on my PC including whats in the registry. I like sharing my knowledge with others; that is the things I haven't forgotten. I don't have or want a fancy title. Just a smile and a thank you once in awhile is enough. When I decide to delete this zip file, I'll remove all these from my registry. I have been around the block a couple of times and some times I act like a smart arse, which is not cool! donetao Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Hi! Regedit (F3) did not find all of them, but did find a few.;) I'm really bored! Quote Some times you're the wind shield. Some times you're the bug!!:(
donetao Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Hi I'm really bored. Search Every thing also found the Zip file on my desk top! Now that's a cool program also. Quote Some times you're the wind shield. Some times you're the bug!!:(

donetao Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Do you use all of the Toshiba software, Gary? I use them on occasions. Toshiba puts a lot of neat features on your PC. I have them all disabled on start up. Do you think I would gain any thing by removing them?? I use this one a lot! Quote Some times you're the wind shield. Some times you're the bug!!:(

donetao Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 When in doubt, don't take them out. :agree::D OK Thanks! PC Decrapifier is kind a neat software and might come in handy some day! FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted March 8, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted March 8, 2015 PC Decrapifier works especially well on new PC's. They usually come bundled with a lot of bloatware. Instead of trying to uninstall all of the crap that comes with a new pc one program at a time, Decrapifier can get it all in one fell swoop. DSTM Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Hi! I'm doing my spring cleaning. Have freed up 10GB on HD Looking for more ways to clean up my PC. Hi Gary. How did you free up 10GIGS of disc space exactly.?:) Quote Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm Schizophrenic, and so am I Free Photo Restoration and Repair for all Forum members - CLICK HERE Please pop back and let us know if your Computer problem has been solved.

It's true I have uninstalled a lot of bloat ware already, but I just don't consider some of those programs bloat ware! Thanks for your replies!! Quote Some times you're the wind shield. donetao Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Hey Dougie. A little spring cleaning. 2.14GB with disk cleaner. Removed a bunch of old restore points. Removed some software that I never use. It's some thing I like doing in the spring. I should have saved a screen shot. I just know I went from 54GB used to 44GB. So I say I have 10GB more free space. I should been more precise. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you Mate!! Will do better next time;);) Quote Some times you're the wind shield. Some times you're the bug!!:(
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted March 8, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted March 8, 2015 I don't consider all of the entries bloatware either. You place a checkmark next to the programs that you want to uninstall. It's obvious that you must have already uninstalled a lot of the programs that came with your computer. I wasn't trying to put you on the spot.New users may want to know in detail, that's all.:) They are prob thinking how the hell did Donetao free up so much disc space. I know you weren't trying to put me on the spot Mate. Some times I even amaze myself. I should have made more screen shots. All I can say, is I went from used 54GB to 44GB. That's a +10GB of free space. I have done this before and I promise I will will keep better records next time. I'm a clean freak. What else can I say. Windows takes about 27 GB. The other 17GB is spread out between programs pictures, ect!! :whome: I know you Mate. Congrats on your per motion! That's the best I can explain it for now!! The forum gets dull some times and I try to keep it interesting! I did gain 10GB of free space. I promise to keep better records next time Mate! Quote Some times you're the wind shield. DSTM Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Like yesteryear free space is again a premium if running SSD drives. As SSD drives come down more in price then more people can afford larger SSD's.A 120GIG SSD your haven't a lot of free space to play with and surprising how quickly a 120GIG SSD fills up as you only have total space to work with of around 111Gigs out of the 120G SSD. There is a simple solution when fighting for disc space and that is to move your pictures to another drive. Many users have up to 10GIGS of pictures on their C:Drive and some even more. Another problem is by having all your pictures on C:Drive is every scan you do the scanner keeps scanning your Pictures folder over and over and this bogs down your scan times. So easy to grab a picture you want to use is select the drive your pictures are now on from the tree and Bingo, you have that image to post in seconds. Another thing is not wait till spring, rather do your cleaning whenever your OS requires it. 2 Quote Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm Schizophrenic, and so am I Free Photo Restoration and Repair for all Forum members - CLICK HERE Please pop back and let us know if your Computer problem has been solved.
