N3 Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 I'm using "Cable" & my ISP is "Hotwire Communications" Ping: 12ms. Download Speed: 5.84 Mbps Upload Speed: 0.90 Mbps Should i complain or get a different ISP? Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted March 5, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted March 5, 2015 Upload could be a little better. As far as downloading goes if you're not downloading gigabytes at a time that speed will work just fine. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
donetao Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Hi ! My down load speed isn't good either. My ISP repairman was out here and proved the problem is in my wireless hardware on my lap top. He got almost 50Mbps down load on his lap top. I suppose I could get a toggle and do better, but I'm lazy and cheap! I'm about ready for a new lappy any way!! http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4191970337 Quote Some times you're the wind shield. Some times you're the bug!!:(
Rich-M Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 The download speed is the worst I have ever heard for cable N3, have you checked what speeds they claim to be offering with them and I agree with Bob the upload is really bad also? Are there maybe tiers of speed that you pay different prices for? Quote
N3 Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 I'll be talking to my ISP soon to find out more information. Can malware affect the speeds? Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted March 6, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted March 6, 2015 I'll be talking to my ISP soon to find out more information. Can malware affect the speeds? Yes it can. The malware could be using your connection as part of a botnet or is distributing the malware itself. 1 Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
