Hi GARY.

I would not give you a dime for any security programs Microsoft have anything to do with.

I have MBAM Free, Paid Eset Nod 32 and S.A.S. (for adware)

Avast is very good but uninstall Chrome box and custom install and uncheck full centre row.

From what I have been reading Avast is on its way out and talking to the people at Emsisoft there has been a big influx of resellers lately giving up Avast and moving over to Emsisoft.

One thing that is really annoying about the free version is the yearly registering where they try everything on earth to force you to buy it!

Most encourage you to upgrade to the paid version. That's in their best interest.

I have Avast on my wife's 2 computers and Avast offers good protection.

Registering takes a whole 2 mins. WOW.

Avast protects over 200 million units world wide, so losing a few to Emsisoft wouldn't even appear on their Radar.:)

Emsisoft is such a small player they don't even appear on most Pie Charts.

I am really happy with ESET at the moment, Rich.

If for some reason I did make a change I would definately try Emsisoft.

I don't doubt Emsisoft is good if you say so.:)

No question Dougie Emsisoft is a peanut but it is growing quite rapidly. Nod32 was always number 1 in my book but they discourage resellers so they will never be that big.
