When I seen Dougies post I had to go to Help >> About to upgrade.

That's right Bob. Or "Help" > "about" and it automatically updates. Same thing.:)

I have been playing around with Firefox. If I disable AdBlock Plus I can get approx half a second faster load time.

I use Ad Muncher as well.

You may want to try UBlock instead of AdBlock Plus. Supposed to be lighter and does virtually the same job.

I haven't tried UBlock however most reviews say it makes Firefox faster compared to AdBlock Plus.

 

I am going to leave AdBlock Plus disabled and only use Ad Muncher. :)

I just switched from adblock to uBlock and for sure it is faster. More configurable too.

 

I also installed admuncher and I have to say I don't know how I got along without for all this time.

My Firefox is really slow compared to IE. Hasn't always been this slow. I will try all your suggestions. I added Admuncher, but FF was slow before I added Admuncher. I may reinstall FF???? Think I'll see if I need to up date FF. It just seems to be slow down loading pages on our forum. Wife says it's fine on her stuff??

I've had to refresh my install many times. It gets to the point where it just gets so slow it's almost unusable. I'll do a refresh and then sync my addons and settings back to what they were. Firefox will be back to normal for a few months and then I do it again.

 

Try this. Restart Firefox with addons disabled and see if that speeds things up. If it does you'll need a refresh. Be aware that if you do refresh you get a clean install of Firefox and lose all your addons.

 

Use menu >> help >> restart with addons disabled.

Seems much faster without the ad-ons. Guess I need a refresh! Think I'll Google and see if they have a solution!!

If you have sync turned on when you refresh the install you can then sign in and get all bookmarks, addons and settings back.

I'm thinking about reinstalling FF. I have done all the suggestions. Some times it's OK next time its slow. I only have one Ad-on and that's WOT!

Don't want to lose my book marks, so I guess I'll turn on sync. Sure would hate to lose my bookmarks.

Hi I have turned off MBAM Anti Exploite. FF seems faster. I don't know?? Will test some more!!

I think MBAM Anti- Expolite was causing FF slow down. FF is loading normally with MBAE disabled!

Well leave it disabled. I don't need MBAE.

I think it may still be in BETA. I don't need it either. It sure looks like it was slowing down my FF!

Saw some more complaints about it on Google.

I uninstalled Malwarebytes Anti-Exploits the other day. It was too buggy.
