donetao Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) How about this one?? You don't need all those fancy snake oil programs to maintain and keep your PC running well! Those snake oil programs will cause you grief. I've been there and done that, but I finally wised up. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/open-the-system-maintenance-troubleshooter Edited February 19, 2015 by donetao Quote Some times you're the wind shield. donetao Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 Now I know my RAM is good. And sense I can and I'm bored. I'll use my Toshiba feature to test my HDD. PS If we had more people posting problems on the forum, I wouldn't get so bored.:):) I might even do a chkdsk after I get ready for bed. I might even use sea tools to check my HDD!! DSTM Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 I am experienced enough to sense if my computers have a problem and know where to look. This is not a car. A warning light is there for a purpose the same as popup warnings are. Don't try and fix something that ain't broke. You only run tests if you sense a problem, not sit there all day looking for problems. I'm really trying hard to attract new members. I have never felt more welcomed on a forum before. I have been on quite a few. donetao Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) Ok How many use this windows feature. You can do a lot with the system repair CD. Not everyone can access the recovery mode from the safe mode; and if you can't boot into windows, this is a great CD to create and have in your arsenal. It's nice to have the system restore CD also. Do you have both of them? I'm trying to make you a hand @AWS Well I do!! http://www.andyrathbone.com/2009/12/21/the-difference-betweensystem-recovery-discs-and-windows-7s-system-repair-disc/ http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/what-are-system-recovery-options#what-are-system-recovery-options=windows-7 When in trouble, always try your System Repair disc first, as it may solve your problem. Only use the System Recovery Discs as a last resort, as they wipe out everything you’ve created since buying your PC. Edited February 21, 2015 by donetao 2 Quote Some times you're the wind shield.
