Hey Pete, someone wants me to remotely fix their pc to get rid of ZLH.EXE prompt stating:

The message "ZLH.EXE cannot be found." keeps popping up every hour or so, and when I close it, another error message appears. I can close them both, and my pc works fine after that, but its pretty annoying 0d4475d404e766906b764fba3488f991.png

I found this tutorial here:

I am wondering if it's safe to run the pcfixkit mentioned in that article please?

Hi Mike

I am wondering if it's safe to run the pcfixkit mentioned in that article please?

My Antimalware program doesn't like that site (Malicious Host ) ... so my answer would be to stay away.

This is normally associated with Norman Anti Virus... was this installed at one point?

If so, the uninstall may have left a startup entry behind.

The best way is to run an FRST scan and then we'll have a better idea of the problem.

Note:

There are both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool available. Please pick the version that matches your operating system's bit type.

If you are unsure what you're system bit type is..... click Here for help.

For x32 bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

For x64 bit systems download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64 and save it to your Desktop.

  • Double-click the downloaded icon to run the tool. Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator

  • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.

  • Make sure that Addition.txt is selected at the bottom
  • Press Scan button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please copy and paste it to your reply also.

Thanks

Yes guys, that is the same report, all the regulars here know I post for help on a couple or few forums as I never know where the help will come from but Pete has always been my go-to guy for malware issues for a while now so as long as he's around and has the time I always go his way first, no insult meant to any other helpers on any other forum.

Hi Mike,

Also their website was flagged with 2 Antivirus as malicious

Seems you basically got the same reply about that site.

As Sirawit replied to your thread at BC first, it's only fair to let him continue.

You will be in very capable hands so please post the FRST reports in the BC thread.

As a matter of courtesy I will close this thread to avoid any further confusion.

Thanks
