donetao Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Hi I was wondering if there is a special section where we can suggest our favorite freeware, that we use to maintain our computers. I don't have a lot of them, but the ones I use really help me keep a healthy PC. Some of my favorites . Here's 10. I haven't added any for a long time. I think I have all I need. Do you have some favorites to share?? FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted February 3, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted February 3, 2015 I'm sorry Donetao but I had to remove CCleaner because it has a registry cleaner with it and we don't recommend registry cleaners. I've used the rest of the programs that you list. The software that I use the most from your list is Who Crashed, Search Everything, Revo and Belarc. My two favorites are Search Everything and Revo. FPCH Admin AWS Posted February 3, 2015 FPCH Admin Posted February 3, 2015 Not yet, but, we will soon. I'm working on something else right now. Once that is done I'll be adding a resources section for adding those. 1 Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest

Hi friend! Just don't use the registry cleaner. I don't use registry cleaners either. They cause more harm than any good they can do. CCleaner has some great tools. Been around for a very long time. Just don't use that feature in CCleaner;);) I clean my own registry. I don't trust any snake oil programs to clean it. Thanks for your reply!! Quote Some times you're the wind shield. Rich-M Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I never recommend Ccleaner, there is no reason to clean a hard drive anyway. BTW I don't know if you know this but the more on the drive, the faster it moved. If you have to do that and again few drives today are more than 20% full anyway. I suggest TFC cleaner or ATF Cleaner. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/tfc/ http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/atf_cleaner.html These are the ones the Security Mods recommend. Quote
donetao Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Those are both great programs. Thanks @Rich-M Quote Some times you're the wind shield. Some times you're the bug!!:(
Rich-M Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Yeah the thing is they are safe and there is nothing to disable. BTW do not worry about ATF not being for Windows 7 or 8 it works just fine with all of the Windows versions. Quote
