Guest Allyson Kazmucha Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Share extensions work much in the same way as action extensions, which are both part of extensibility. For example, if you want to share something to Pinterest from Safari, you no longer have to copy the URL and then open the Pinterest app. Instead, Pinterest and many other apps are now available via the Share sheet and can be accessed directly from Safari and many other App Store apps. That means you no longer have to go jumping around between apps — All you have to do is set up share extensions. Note: Share extensions will show up in iOS 8 or later in the Share sheet of any app that supports them. However, Share extensions are only shown if they support that particular app's content type. For example, sharing to Storefront will show up in Photos but not in Notes. Since most, if not all, share extensions are available in Safari, that's the best place to enable, disable, or reorder them. How to enable share extensions on iPhone and iPad Launch Safari on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8 or higher. Navigate to any web page and tap on the Share button in the bottom navigation. Scroll all the way to the right in the top row of icons. Tap on the More button. Toggle On for any share extensions you have that you'd like to use. Tap Done in the upper right hand corner to finish. How to reorder share extensions on iPhone and iPad Launch Safari on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8 or higher. Navigate to any web page and tap on the Share button in the bottom navigation. Scroll all the way to the right in the bottom row of icons. Tap on the More button. Touch and hold the grabber icon to the right of any extension and drag it up or down to reorder it. Tap Done in the upper right hand corner to finish. How to access and use share extensions on iPhone and iPad Launch the app that contains the content you want to work with. Tap on the Share button. Choose the share extension you'd like to use and follow the directions presented as they may be different for each different type of share extension. Continue reading... Quote
