Microsoft will release an update for its recently-launched smartphone photo-sharing app Xim later today that adds support for displaying those images for a number of TV set-top boxes and sticks, including Apple TV.

Other devices that will now work with the Xim app include Google's Chromecast, Microsoft's own Xbox One console and the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. It can now also display photos on web browsers.

This new sharing feature within Xim will search for WiFi-connected devices and turn your phone into a remote controller for the device. This will let you cycle through those images.
