Rich-M Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Check out your Windows Defender folks as I noticed after 2 days mine had failed to update and was sitting over a month old in updates. I am hoping once I manually start it, it will continue on its own or that could be an issue going forward. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted October 13, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted October 13, 2014 That's weird, Rich. Mine updated automatically. Quote ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~ ~~Robert McCloskey~~
Rich-M Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 I just happened to look at it and it was sitting on Sept 7 considering I installed this yesterday and it has been on about 3 hours that is a bit odd. BTW am actually Liking IE here and see no reason to include another browser though I like to have at least another in case of issues cropping up. I just cannot decide which one to use and it might well be Opera which I have not looked at for years.. Quote
DSTM Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I always disable Windows Defender. It sucks IMO. Rich-M Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 I am not sure this version sucks Dougie and for the purposes of testing why not try it as supposedly it is Antivirus and Antispyware. I still have Mbam Pro running besides though and I always disabled it in Vista and Windows 7 as you do. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted October 13, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted October 13, 2014 I always disable it in Win 7 and 8 but I haven't done so in the 10 TP. I doubt that it has become any better but who knows, I love surprises. :D This would be a pleasant one, for sure. Rich-M Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 I actually saw it removing stuff on an infected computer the other day with Windows 8 and I got all excited! 1 Quote

FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted October 14, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted October 14, 2014 It's been years since I've seen Defender remove anything. Rich-M Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 That was the first time I ever saw it do anything believe me. Quote
