Rich-M Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Well overall I find it fast and maneuverable and a great fix to Windows 8.1, so much so I may dump my Windows 8.1 All-in-One which runs like a wounded buffalo hunter freezing and stumbling from one issue to another, by far the worst OS this writer has ever seen. I cannot find a single browser that performs well consistently in Windows 8.1 but here other than for an occasional "IE must close due to imminent castration" which it then doesn't do anyway when you choose "ok", I see no IE issues and I find that especially unusual because I dump Bing for Google and load in LastPass, Mouse Gestures, Wot and Adblock Plus for starters (until I find the rest of my addons). I like the bright refreshing colors brought forward from Windows 8, transparent taskbar and the fact that single click is still available as I feared that would go next. I am using a socket 775 unit with a decent Core 2 Duo 6600 and 8 Gb ddr2 ram with an old Nvidia 8600 video card and this thing flies. I have yet to load many programs but with enough to run for now I see only 16 gb including Windows so that would initially appear a bit smaller than Windows Vista 7 and 8. I am using it the same way with third party Quick launch and Win Patrol for startup and registry control and it runs very well for a beat test as far as I am concerned. Overall I like this a lot and I was fully prepared to hate it! 1 Quote
