McgibsonMijares Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 good day people, ok.. straight to the point..... here's the scenario of my problem.... modem(ISP) - Acer Server blade type have 2 NIC's - Dlink websmart switch - clients workstation now.... how can i configure my internet access to be shared in my clients?? is there a step by step guide to form a DHCP server?? im using windows 2008 r2, actually i configure my server with "AD DS, DNS, DHCP" here's my IP: lets assume...... NIC 1 ISP public IP IP: 122.58.82.254 Sub: 255.255.255.252 GW: 122.58.82.253 Pre DNS server: 58.71.1.38 Alter DNS server: 58.71.2.8 NIC 2 IP (were i set up my DHCP) IP:192.168.11.1 sub:255.255.255.0 GW:192.168.1.1 Pre DNS: 192.168.11.1 Alter DNS: none is this correct?? im new in configuring 2008 r2 and to all roles here but i have a basic knowledge here as well please guys i need your expertise here.... please?? just all i need is a step by step... like how to share internet access in DHCP server somethin like that.... thanks a lot for your consideration.... godbless to all Quote

To configure DHCP there's the wizard (when you add the DHCP role), doesn't matter the external interface, when asked, select the internal interface (private, LAN). Anyway if you want a step-by-step... Regarding the sharing... actually you are not sharing the connection, or at least you don't have to... you can easily ROUTE the connection from NIC 1 to 2. Once again to set up ROUNTING in server 2008 there's a wizard which is really easy (your scenario is not complicated), but if you need a step-by-step...
