My touchscreen pc has lag problem "when scrolling", otherwise the reaction time is good. I am suspecting this older pc as being the cause of the lag since it's only 1gb RAM and the processor should be around a 2.0 Pentium, the jukebox software [Etouch] which I am using, it's developer said "Disk access is also a thing you will want to look at. I use an SSD as the boot drive where E-touch is installed".

What do you guys think, what would be the best I can do to speed up that lag time? Get the fastest HDD available, or use a more powerful touchscreen pc, or would this need a touchscreen pc with the best graphics card?

The graphics card has it's own processor and ram onboard and doesn't depend on the computer cpu or ram. It can be looked at as a computer in a computer. Upgrading it will give the biggest performance boost since your problem is with monitor lag. While a ram and processor upgrade should be considered too. It really is under powered by today's standards, but, your problem is graphics related and an upgrade there would give the most benefit.

Since this touchscreen pc has a built-in graphics chip and no expansion slots I am guessing my only option would be to purchase a new modern touchscreen pc which has a much more powerful graphics chip?

I can't get any info on the maker of this touchscreen pc, the System info showed: Via Technologies and Model CLE266-8235 when I contacted them, they wrote:

Hello,Thanks you for your email. Please not we do not sell any systems in the end-user market. We do not sell any products which match the desription you have. Most likely the manufacturer utlizes our chipsets/motherboard for the system.

The CLE266-8235 refers to an old VIA north + south bridge chipset which supports our VIA Eden®, VIA Antaur™, VIA C3® x86 cpus. However without more details we cannot be sure which you have.

Thanks in advance,

Interesting where on earth did you get this? Maybe it is some kind of custom build?

Can you use SIW or some hardware checking software maybe we can learn what the motherboard is?

I mean I would bet it can go to at least 2 gb ram but more than that we would need to know the motherboard.

Thanks Cindy, will do and report back here but now I have different problem, putting back the cover now when i boot up the unit, the screen doesn't show any video, just a blank grey color.

About an hour ago, I played around with all the wires then got it to work again but I think this old unit won't do as now it's overheating and freezing after playing music for only 30 minutes or so. I will purchase a newer touchscreen monitor and work off of my music pc. I am thinking of getting one like this but not sure which 'specs" I should look for in a touchscreen monitor?

What I have decided to do is not get an all in one touchscreen pc, since I already have a couple of machines around here with much better specs than that older unit, I will purchase a touchscreen monitor with a base so I can wall mount it or move it around whenever needed. Also, since I have more than one pc around here, if any hardware problems develop I will have more options than an all in one. So my next step is find one of the better touchscreen monitors around. My research is showing the "ELO" is one of the top "commercial" brands around? So something like should work and is very affordable?

Never heard of either Evo or the class of item and for the life of me I don't see any value to it. I have touch screen laptops and PCs and never use the touch screen ability because I wind up spending more time cleaning it than its worth. A cell phone or tablet I understand having that.

Ok I can accept that but what does having a touch screen monitor do for you? I just don't get it. I guess its like wireless keyboards. I don't understand why I would take my keyboard across the room away from my system? Even if I had the mouse with it. I mean I have 20/20 and couldn't see the screen from my couch. Why put finger prints all over a screen? Is it because it saves plugging in a mouse. Ever tried using a virtual keyboard?

Main reasons for me to get only a touchscreen monitor is simply because I already have a couple of pc's here so no need to shell out more for a most likely less powerful pc and I need to have the touchscreen jukebox both wallmounted and portable so I can move it around whenever I need to, this way I can lease the pc itself connected to my music rig and will only need to move the touchscreen around via a long VGA cable.

:D All of my keyboards and mice are wireless. I hate cords! :D

We had our first disagreement I use only wired mouses and keyboards, I hate wireless of either. But I do use a wired laser mouse at least.
