N3 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Since firefox now sucks, (at least for me) & pale moon was a disaster for me i'm now considering the Opera browser. Is there a means of transferring my firefox information onto opera? If i can't use Opera then IE will be my choice regardless of the ramifications. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted September 14, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted September 14, 2014 See if this will help, N3. http://help.opera.com/Mac/12.10/en/importexport.html Quote ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~ ~~Robert McCloskey~~
Rich-M Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 N3 over the years I have played with Opera but not recently as sooner or later I wind up hating the interface and options available. I know you probably hate Chrome but personally I really think it is the best browser and one of the reasons is that it updates itself as does java and flash player within it. I got used to its rather spartan interface because it is so steady. Quote
N3 Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Rich.....I never tried chrome so i can't comment on it. Does chrome have add-ons similar to firefox? Quote
Rich-M Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Yes N3 it has every addon FF does + more. I use WOT, Adblock Plus, Mouse Gestures, LastPass but when you look at it you won't see much familiar. The address bar is also search bar like IE and all the way on the right you will see either a "wrench" or a box with 4 parallel lines and all the settings you are looking for are in that. Quote
N3 Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 I have folders on my desktop. Can they be imported to an Opera desktop? Quote
IceMan37 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Desktop folders would be "local" whereas folders on a browser would be "non local". So one is what you access directly the content that's already present on your PC (local). The other are merely http addresses (usually) bookmarked on your browser on the net. However. of you have actually dragged and dropped some of those http/https bookmarks onto your desktop (as I do myself sometimes) then yes you can import them into Opera or any other browser. Here is the import/export FAQ for Opera. http://help.opera.com/Windows/12.10/en/importexport.html Quote
