Apple has not only updated its website in the wake of the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch reveal, but it also used that revamp to also put an end to one of its old media players. Yes, the iPod Classic, with its old fashioned but roomy hard drive and its click wheel, is no longer available for sale on the Apple.com site.

This is truly the end of an era for Apple, as the iPod Classic is the last version of the original iPod that Apple launched way back in 2001. It started Apple's transition from being just a PC company into a leader in delivering entertainment and media in new ways. The last version of the iPod Classic has not been updated in several years and there's been tons of speculation that the company would shut down the product for a few years now.

What do you think of Apple quietly retiring the iPod Classic?
