Dungeons & Dragons is a super-popular tabletop role-playing game. There have been numerous titles released in digital format for players to enjoy on their consoles and gaming rigs, but many have failed to replicate the magic of tabletop. That could change as Backflip Studios is looking to bring a new Dungeons & Dragons game to mobile platforms and it's set to introduce some neat features.

Backflip has announced that it's creating a new mobile game and while it doesn't look like the tabletop role-playing game, the development team is working hard to implement some key elements. The team will also look to add some unique touches to the game, including real-time combat (as shown in the development video below) as opposed to the usual turn-based. That all said, looking at the video itself, it does seem as though this could be a freemium title, which could put off some of the potential player base.

Not much else is known about the upcoming title, including which platforms it will be released on. We'll hopefully have more details in the near future, but it's certainly one to keep an eye on. It's safe to not expect a hardcore Dungeons & Dragons experience, but an easily approachable title for everyone to enjoy on their mobile device.

What would you like to see in this game?
