FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted August 30, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted August 30, 2014 You must have been reading my mind, Rich. I just got two notebooks in this morning and they both have bad hard drives. Thanks! FPCH Admin AWS Posted August 30, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted August 30, 2014 I bought one of these a couple weeks ago to replace a bad hard drive on one of the employees laptop. I paid more than this. I might pick up a couple for spares. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
Rich-M Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Yeah that's the lowest I have seen even though they are coming down and these drives are decent as well. My wholesaler had 3.5" drives for $42.99 but I could not put that up because you had to be a member but I have been building with these for a while now. WD are still the best though but they only have 2 year warranty now also. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted August 30, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted August 30, 2014 The black WD's still have the 5 year warranty on them. They are usually the only one I purchase. http://support.wdc.com/warranty/policy.asp Quote ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~ ~~Robert McCloskey~~
Rich-M Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 Right as do the Raptors, the only drives I used for me for years until I got hooked on Ssd drives. I have never really seen any wear difference in any of the more expensive labels though as at some point or another I have used them all. Kind of like the race for 64 meg cache drives even though I can't see where the original 2 meg cache were any slower. Quote
