Once again we've gathered together the best iPhone apps and best iPad apps and games released this week! We'll regularly dig up the best, freshest social, music, photography and productivity apps for iOS, not to mention action games, shooter games, puzzle games, and anything in between. Come on and dig in to see our favorite releases over the last seven days!

Dragon Quest IV

Dragon Quest IV is the mobile reimagining of a classic Japanese role-playing game. Players gather up a ragtag troupe of heroes and embark on daring adventures spanning six chapters. Familiar RPG structures welcome old school gamers, like turn-based combat with fantastic monsters, epic loot of all kinds, and plenty of levelling up.

Dragon Quest IV is perfect for anyone looking for a dose of nostalgia.

Rules!

Rules is an imaginative and fresh reflex game with adorable graphics. Players have a set of tiles in front of them, each with some kind of animal face on it. Players are given a rule for what order to tap the tiles in, such as "green ones first". After finishing a screen, players continue to a second, where they're given a new rule and have to remember previous ones to execute afterwards. Players are on the clock while they're doing this, making for a frenzied memory challenge with shades of the classic game Simon.

Blood Bowl

Blood Bowl is the mobile iteration of popular fantasy miniatures war game about orcs, elves, humans and others meeting head-to-head in a football-inspired blood sport. Proceedings are structured as turn-based combat, and though the final goal of getting the ball into an end zone, though there's a lot more plate armor, spell-slinging, and fatalities than you're used to.

Blood Bowl fans will be pumped to get their game time in on mobile, and even casual sports game players are likely to appreciate the fantasy-themed twist.

Astro Duel

Astro Duel is a deceptively simple local multiplayer game with a solid retro vibe. As the name suggests, two to four players hop into space ships, sail around in zero g around various asteroids and extraterrestrial debris while trying to blow each other up with a wide range of weaponry. Players use either a shared iPad or iPhones paired up to a single iPad to take part in the duels.

Astro Duel is, fun, fast-paced, and has just enough chunky pixels to keep old-school gamers around.

Godus

Godus is a casual god sim game with classic mobile city-building mechanics. Players need to guide a fledgling population through the hoops of an evolving civilization, including new housing, developing relationships with one another, and all-out war with neighbours. The usual freemium tropes are present, such as limited faith points which are gathered from the dwellings of worshippers periodically and spent on most deific tasks, including basic terraforming. The pared-down, textureless art style allows vibrant animation with lots of personality shine through.

If you're looking for something like Clash of Clans or Farmville with a touch of visual class, Godus will serve you well.

NFL Now

NFL Now is a new, official app that's geared towards providing personalized football video content. Mark your favorite teams, players, and coaches, and you can easily follow news about them.

Some video types are locked behind a subscription, but even free users should be able to find some content inside to enjoy.

Convoto

Convoto is a simple, polished unit conversion app that lets you convert units of time, weight, energy, velocity, length, temperature, and more. It borrows a bit of design language from the popular task management app, Clear, which is hardly a bad thing.

Anyone working with numbers regularly will want to check out Convoto.

Eventology

If hosting events is part of your work, you'll want to check out Eventology. Is a brand new software as a service that allows mobile check-ins using smartphones, adding drop-in guests, monitoring event status, gather event analytics, and keep tabs on important contacts and dates. Beyond mobile, Eventology also helps you out with an event site, so you can easily get all of the event's information out there.

Though the pricing is well outside of the range of casual private functions, anyone in the business of putting events together could find many uses for Eventology.

Notesmartly

Notesmartly is a promising new collaboration app where users can share content, ideas, comments, and create associated tasks complete with reminders and notifications. Tags help keep everything organized in their respective subjects. Offline caching ensures you'll always have access to the latest progress, too.

If you're on the hunt for a new app for your team, whatever it may be, check out Notesmartly.

UrbanBib

Urbanbib is described succinctly in the App Store as Yelp for parents. Ratings are left for restaurants based on how kid-friendly they are, ranging from facilities available, service, to menu. Nearby restaurants can be filtered based on if they have high chairs, changing stations, or are stroller friendly. For now the app is only set for Los Angeles, but we're eager to see a wider geographic rollout soon.

Eating out as a parent can be quite the challenge, and Urbanbib looks like they're meeting it head-on.
