Guest Peter Cohen Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 In OS X Mavericks Apple introduced the Reading List in Apple's Safari web browser. Reading List makes it easier to find content you'd like to read when you get a chance. What's more, Reading List synchronizes between your iOS and Mac devices, so you can pick up and read from anywhere. Here's how to get the most out of it. How to save pages to Safari Reading List Safari's Reading List gives you a place to store bookmarks to web content you'd like to check out later. Open Safari. Navigate to a webpage you want to save to Reading List Click on the plus button that appears to the left of the web page URL on Safari's address bar. (Alternately, hold down the command and shift keys and type D.) How to open Safari Reading List Open Safari. Click the View menu. Select Show Reading List Sidebar. (Alternately, click on the Bookmark button or hold down the command and control keys and type 2.) All of the pages you've saved to the Reading List will be shown. How to delete an item from Safari Reading List To delete a page from the Reading List: Open Safari. Click the View menu. Select Show Reading List Sidebar. (Alternately, click on the Bookmark button or hold down the command and control keys and type 2.) Click the X button in the upper right hand corner of the individual list entry. Reading List can be synchronized between your Mac and your iOS devices, so you can read web pages on any device when you get the chance. Just make sure that Safari is checked in your iCloud system preference. Safari doesn't just simply store a link to the web page, otherwise Reading List items would be little more than a specialized bookmark. Safari downloads an archive of the web page so you can view it offline later, even if you don't have a network connection. Any questions? That's it! Follow these steps to get Reading List populated, and save interesting web content for later, regardless of whether you're using your Mac or iOS device. Any questions? Fire away! Continue reading...
