starbuck Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Several users reported problems on this thread: Update v2014.07.26.09 Entire System32 Quarantined? MBAM state: If anyone is currently running a scan STOP the scan immediately. Do not allow anything to be quarantined or removed. Update the database and then run another scan. Appears to have affected "only" Pro users. The update which caused this was v2014.07.26.09. Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted July 27, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted July 27, 2014 Just in time. I was getting ready to run my weekly scan. I think I'll wait now. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
starbuck Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 I updated mine this morning v2014.07.27.04 and ran a scan.... everything ran fine. as long as the database version you use, is after : v2014.07.26.09. There shouldn't be a problem. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted July 27, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted July 27, 2014 Thanks, Pete. This is the first time something like this has ever happened, isn't it? FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted July 27, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted July 27, 2014 I can't even get mbam to open. I wonder what's up, is it related? starbuck Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 This is the first time something like this has ever happened, isn't it? Sadly it's not the first time. It's the second time in 15 months: http://blog.malwarebytes.org/news/2013/04/yesterdays-database-update-issue/ I can't even get mbam to open. I wonder what's up, is it related? Are you running the free version or the premium version. The free version seems ok..... for some reason only the premium version seems to be affected. Some did have problems trying to update, so the advice given is to try and uninstall MBAM. Then download and run mbam clean Reboot your system and then install a fresh copy .... the registration code will still work. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted July 27, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted July 27, 2014 Thanks, Pete. I'll give that a shot. Quote ~I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.~ ~~Robert McCloskey~~
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted July 27, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted July 27, 2014 Thanks again, Pete. That did the trick. No problems now. Rich-M Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I had the same issue this evening and had to use the cleaner and then reinstall Mbam and for me this is getting all to frequent lately. Quote
starbuck Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 I don't know why, but there does seem to be more issues with the premium version. I've only ever used the free version and have never had a problem on 3 systems over about 4 years. Quote
Rich-M Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Pete I have used the paid version for about 7 years since I became disillusioned with SAS and only this year with this new version had issues. Quote
FPCH Admin allheart55 Cindy E Posted July 28, 2014 FPCH Admin Posted July 28, 2014 This is the first time I have had any problems with the Premium version and I have been using it since it came out.
